Satbir Singh v. State of Haryana - Synopsis
Ahir Mitra 4 Aug 2021

Satbir Singh v. State of Haryana.

The Judgment passed by the High Court of Punjab and Haryana was challenged in this case, which denied the appellants' appeals and maintained the Trial Court's judgment of conviction and the appellants were imprisonment under Sections 304B and 306 of the Indian Penal Code. The Court upheld the accused conviction under Section 304 B of the Indian Penal Code, but overturned his conviction under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code, since the prosecution failed to show the fact of suicide beyond a reasonable doubt, and therefore the presumption under Section 113A of the Evidence Act 1872 could not be used.
