The Consumer Protection Act, 2019


The Consumer Protection Act, 1986 is a statute of the Indian Parliament, enacted in 1986 to protect consumer interests in India. The Consumer Protection Act 2019 replaces it. It is designed for the setting up of consumer councils and other authorities to resolve consumer complaints and related matters. The act was passed in October 1986 in assembly and came into force on 24 December 1986. Since this COPRA act the statute on the right was introduced.
