Supreme Court to hear a plea challenging the abolition of the Odisha Administrative Tribunal

The plea states that Central government had issued a notification abolishing OAT by invoking Section 21 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 (GCA) when the parent Act i.e. the Administrative Tribunals Act, 1985 (AT Act) implicitly denied exercise of such power

Justice L Nageswara Rao: There is a letter here requesting adjournment

Adv Ashok Panigrahi: The tribunal has been abolished and the matters are now in High Court. We need some time

SC: Atleast someone is hearing your case, there are tribunals here which is not even functioning!

SC: List this sometime in March, 2022
