Supreme Court Bench headed by CJI Ramana to hear today the case regarding expeditious disposal of cases against MP/ MLAs and constitution of Special courts.

An application has been filed by Registrar General, Gauhati High Court seeking permission to transfer judicial officers dealing
with cases involving prosecution of legislators.

Similar applications have been filed by other HC’s

Bench allows the applications.

Amicus Sr Adv Vijay Hansaria: I’ve filed a detailed 16th report, I’m seeking urgent directions.

CJI: Everything is urgent in this court, outside they can wait years no problem, once if you enter into Supreme court it becomes very urgent.

CJI: We took up this litigation passed orders and now it’s going on, wait some time? Problem is Judges have to be available na? If i Constitute that bench I’ve to disturb two benches. On a friday can i disturb two benches?

Amicus: for 5 years 2000 cases are pending despite this court’s orders.

CJI: I can give some date after 15th April.
