Sri Krishna Janmabhumi Dispute: "Demolish Mosque in Return of Larger Piece of Land": Sri Krishna Janmabhumi Mukti Aandolan Samiti to Mathura Court

The application has been moved by a Hindu Religion outfit named “Sri Krishna Janmabhumi Mukti Aandolan Samiti” before the Mathura Court to offer a piece of land to the Muslim Mosque’s Management Committee which is larger than the one on which 17th century Shahi Masjid allegedly stands inside the Katra Keshav Dev temple complex.

The offer made by the Hindu Religion outfit stated some conditions as follows:

  • The Muslim Mosque’s Management Committee would have to voluntarily demolish the shrine on its own and
  • Further, asked Muslim Mosque’s Committee to resolve the matter amicably. 

Further, the offer refers to the 2019 Supreme Court judgment in the Ram Janmabhumi case where the court gave the judgment in favor of Hindu Religion parties but asked the government to provide another land to Muslims for a mosque, in return.

The application filed by The Aandolan Samiti through the Advocate Mahendra Pratap Singh has stated that if the Muslim Party will demolish the shrine on its own, a larger piece of land will be provided to the Mosque Management Committee outside the Chaurasi Kos Parikarma circuit of the temple town.

The Application also asked the court to make it a part of an earlier lawsuit “for a removal of the mosque from near the temple.” The request was pending with the court since December 2020.
