On Thursday, August 20, for seeking justice for the two Saints who were killed in Palghar lunching, Swami AvdheshanandGiri of JunaAkhada demanded CBI investigation into the matter. The demand came after the Supreme Court allowed CBI investigation for the Sushant Singh Rajput Case. He also received support Yoga Guru Ramdev for demanding the CBI probe for the Palghar lynching incident to seek justice for the two saints. 

A Public Interest Litigation was filed for the matter demanding CBI or Court-monitored Special Investigation Team (SIT) for the incident that took place in Palghar. 

On June 11, Supreme Court asked Maharashtra for its response by issuing a notice, for the PIL filed, seeking CBI probe for the Palghar lynching that killed two saints.

On August 6, the Supreme court asked Maharashtra Government to produce the charge sheet filed in the FIR related to the Palghar lynching case. The order was passed by a Supreme Court bench comprising Justices Ashok Bhushan and R Subhash Reddy while hearing the petition demanded by an Advocate seeking CBI probe for the incident. 

Saint Avdheshanand in his Statement said, “there has been no action on the killing of sadhus in Palghar. Mob killed the innocent Sadhus with barbarity in front of the police. There is anger as justice has not been served. Like the Sushant Singh Rajput Case, CBI must probe it. This is what religious groups and devotees want. The CBI must probe it.
